I am particularly interested in this parish, as I believe all the Crowes here are related to me. Three different relatives attest to this idea but I still have to prove it.

You will see a common name on these charts is Denis Crowe. Apart from a group of Denis Crowes in Upperchurch this seems to be a separate group or 'stream' as I prefer to call it. Denis Crowes seem to move out of this parish towards Silvermines and Nenagh. Some of them were miners too. Nearby is a place called Coppermines. Small scale but important mining happened here amid much speculation

I was told that a Denis Crowe relation had notions of grandeur and you will notice the marriages to merchants - so maybe the tale was true?
